Information Collection and How it is Used
AfriMod, owned and operated by Viquest Creative Limited, an Ontario, Canada corporation will not sell or disclose your name email address or address to third parties without your explicit consent, except as specified in this Privacy Policy.
Public Content
We collect and store the information that you post to the Site, including your photos, comments and profile information.
AfriMod also collects personal information when you register to use our services or to post content on our site. At registration you are asked for a username, password and a valid email address. If you would like to set-up an AfriMod shop, we will also require your shop name.
AfriMod collects information related to buyers orders. This include: Billing Address, Shipping Address and Email Address. Buyers information is only used to fill buyers orders. We do not sell or redistribute buyers information to ANYONE.
AfriMod automatically receives and records information on our server logs from your browser, including your IP address, cookies and the pages you request. IP addresses are automatically reported by your browser each time you view a webpage. This data is only used in the aggregate.
AfriMod uses information for the following purposes: products and services provisioning, identification and authentication, services improvement, contact, research and anonymous reporting.
AfriMod will send you a welcome/confirmation email when you sign up for our services. Confirmation of this email is required for opening an AfriMod Shop.
Third Party Advertising
We work with third parties such as network advertisers to display ads on our Site, and to evaluate the success of our advertising campaigns. Third-party ad network providers, advertisers, sponsors and/or traffic measurement services may use cookies, JavaScript, web beacons and other tracking technologies to measure the effectiveness of their ads and to personalize advertising content to you. This enables us and these third parties to target advertisements to you for products and services in which you might be interested, based upon your activities on our Site and other websites. These third-party cookies and other technologies are governed by each third party’s specific privacy policy, not this one. We may provide these third-party advertisers with information about members, or allow them to collect certain information through our Site (e.g., IP address and demographic information), but we do not disclose your name, contact information or other personally identifiable information.
AfriMod does not endorse and is not responsible or liable for any content, advertising, products, or other materials on or available from such websites or resources. You expressly relieve AfriMod of any and all liability arising from your use of any third-party website, service, or content.
AfriMod has enabled Google Analytics Advertising Features, including tracking and re-marketing. If you wish, you may opt-out here.
Cookies
A cookie is a small amount of data, which often includes an anonymous unique identifier, that is sent to your browser from a website’s computers and stored on your computer’s hard drive. You can configure your browser to accept all cookies, reject all cookies, or notify you when a cookie is set. If you reject all cookies, you will not be able to use AfriMod products or services that require you to “sign in,” and you may not be able to take full advantage of AfriMod service.
AfriMod uses its own cookies for a number of purposes, including to: access your information when you “sign in”; keep track of preferences you specify while you are using AfriMod services; estimate and report AfriMod total audience size and traffic; conduct research to improve AfriMod content and services.
AfriMod cookies do not collect personal information, and AfriMod does not combine information collected through cookies with other personal information to tell us who you are or what your username or email address is.
Plug-ins and Social Media Widgets
AfriMod may include social media features and widgets, such as the Facebook Like button and the “Share” button, as well as other interactive mini-programs that run both on AfriMod and on third-party websites, and enable certain features to work (e.g., blogs and comments). These features may collect your IP address, which page you are visiting, and may set a cookie to enable the feature to function properly and for other purposes. When these features are displayed on our Site they are hosted by third parties, and are subject to their own privacy policies, not this one. Your interactions with these features are governed by the privacy policy of the company providing them.
Information Sharing and Disclosure
When you post a message, your AfriMod username is visible to other users. If you post personal information online that is accessible to the public, you may receive unsolicited messages from other parties in return. AfriMod may be required to disclose personally identifiable information under special circumstances, such as to comply with applicable laws, subpoenas, police investigations or legal proceedings.
In connection with an investigation of fraud, intellectual property infringement, piracy, or other unlawful activity AfriMod may disclose personally identifiable information at our sole discretion if we believe same to be necessary or appropriate. In such events, AfriMod may disclose name, street address, city, state, zip/postal code, country, phone number, email address and company name.
AfriMod may employ other companies and people to perform tasks on our behalf in order to provide products and services to you. Examples include but are not limited to fulfilling orders, and handling billing and payment.
AfriMod will not rent, sell or share personal information about you with non-affiliated parties except as specified in this Privacy Policy to provide products or services you have requested or with your explicit consent.
It may be necessary to share information in order to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the physical safety of any person, or as otherwise required by law.
As part of the buying and selling process, you may obtain another AfriMod user’s email address, shipping address and/or other information. This information should only be used for AfriMod-related communication or for AfriMod-facilitated transactions. AfriMod has not granted you a license to use the information for unsolicited commercial messages. Without limiting the foregoing, without express consent from the user, you are not licensed to add any AfriMod user to your email or physical mail list.
Without limiting the above, in an effort to respect your privacy and AfriMod ability to keep the marketplace free from negative elements, we will not otherwise disclose your personal information to law enforcement, other government officials, or other third parties without a subpoena, court order, legal process, or substantially similar legal procedure, except when we believe in good faith that the disclosure of information is necessary to protect AfriMod rights, prevent imminent physical harm or financial loss, or to report suspected illegal activity.
This Policy is effective March 01, 2020, upon acceptance for new users.
