Travel Journal – Four Corner Nomad (Dawn)

The text is adapted from a Tuareg tradition, where a father gives his son a Tuareg cross (representing the four cardinal points) and says, “I give you the four corners of the world, because one cannot know where one will die.”

Four Corner Nomad: Ours is a world of wonders… from the cold glaciers of the arctic to the deep blue of oceans. We journey to corners of green vegetation and to contrasting hot sandy deserts. We experience cultures and traditions and imbibe the colors, shapes and sounds. It is a wonderful world and it is here for us to immerse ourselves.

AfriMod nomad project is inspired by Tuareg culture. In Tuareg tradition, a father says to his son, “I give you the four corners of the world, because one cannot know where one will die.”

Typographic representations of the four cardinal points (north, south, east, west) are boldly rendered to indicate separate destinations while intersecting directional arrows create a sense of movement while highlighting interconnectedness.

Our Nomad Project recognizes that ours is a world of wonders… from cold glaciers of the arctic to the deep blue of oceans… We journey to corners of green vegetation to hot sandy deserts… We experience cultures and traditions… We imbibe the colors, shapes and sounds… It is a wonderful world and it is our to immerse ourselves in.
