African Clay Pot
Small, hand-molded tabletop clay vessel. Handmade, etched and decorated by Nupe potters in the village of Giri, just outside of Abuja, Nigeria. Constructed using hand-coiling and pinching techniques, then fired in an open kiln. Stained a burnt-ochre derived from boiling tree bark. Imported from Africa.
